Dedicated Preschool Teachers

UDA's Dedicated Preschool Teachers

The beautiful thing about children is they already have inquisitive minds, ready and willing to soak up all there is to learn. The right preschool teacher knows how to nurture those curious minds so that your child continues to remain curious, active, and interested in learning.

Developing the Whole Child

At UDA Creative Arts Preschool in Draper, we believe our preschool teachers can nurture children’s minds by helping to develop the whole child. That’s why we focus not only on academics, but on social, emotional, and physical confidence as well. Our teachers are dedicated to immersing your child in a rich learning environment from the moment of arrival to pick-up.

Along with the ABCs and 123s, as well as ensuring kindergarten readiness, our teachers teach:

  • Dance and creative movement
  • Music
  • Art
  • Social Studies
  • Science
  • Kindness and empathy
  • Manners
  • Honesty
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • And so much more

Quality Instruction and Attention

With a small student/teacher ratio, our teachers have the freedom to get one-on-one time with each child throughout the week. During this time, our teachers are trained to pick up on concerns with development, as well as to notice your child’s strengths and find ways to continue to nurture those strengths.

Our preschool teachers are also skilled at working with the whole group of children, and in evaluating and adjusting for students who need more challenge or extra assistance.

Our teachers focus on rich hands-on learning, always carefully balancing between teacher and child-directed discovery. Our wide range of varied instructional strategies, including multi-sensory learning and thematic units, help us to offer individualized approaches to your child’s education.

We encourage and allow children to discover, explore, and even get messy!

Highly Trained Teachers

Our carefully-screened teachers are held to an extremely high standard of excellence. We follow the code of conduct as set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, as well as additional high standards set by our preschool facility.

Our expertly trained teachers observe and record learning patterns and styles; teaching strategies are then adjusted and individualized to meet the needs of each child.

Our Ongoing Teacher Training Includes:
  • Fall training where teachers attend classes and workshops for 5 days taught by Love and Logic facilitators, art therapists and professionals in child development.
  • Monthly training meetings focused on improving the classroom, teaching techniques, and innovative ways to teach the UDA Creative Arts Preschool curriculum.
  • Teachers attend a weekend training each spring taught by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
  • Local police, and fire departments train our teachers annually in safety, first aid, CPR and fire drills.

We are constantly learning and applying strategies for communicating with your child, helping them to reach their potential, and teaching them important academic, social, emotional, and confidence skills.

Each preschool teacher is required to have a background check and maintain a current food handler’s permit.

Your child could not be in better hands than here at UDA Creative Arts Preschool in Draper!

Teacher observation and child progress are communicated regularly to parents, helping you to become active partners in their child’s education. Weekly newsletters keep you informed of what children are learning, we are always available to answer questions, and you are free to observe our classrooms in action. We also love inviting parents to attend shows a few times a year where their children put on simple, fun, age-appropriate performances.

True Caring

Most importantly, our teachers care about your children. We feel joy when they overcome obstacles and we hurt when they’re sad. We truly love our students, and that love drives us to use creative approaches and develop unique solutions to help your child find real success.

Preschool is such a fun time of life, and it’s so important to us that your child’s introduction to learning is a happy one. We hope your child will move on to many future successes, and we believe it is our job to set the stage for a happy academic and well-rounded life for your child.
